Prisoner Transport Truck Sierra Leone Project: 8 Customized Units for SLCS

A successful Prisoner Transport Truck project was completed for the Sierra Leone Correctional Service in August 2021. The customer required a customized fleet covering prisoner transportation, water supply, and sewage collection operations. Dali supplied a total of 8 specialized vehicles, including five ISUZU FTR prisoner transport trucks, two ISUZU FVR water sprinkler trucks, and one ISUZU FTR vacuum sewage truck.

This project demonstrates Dali’s ability to coordinate multiple special vehicle types within one overseas order. Moreover, the solution was developed according to the detailed requirements provided by the Sierra Leone Correctional Service.

Customer Background

The customer for this project was the Sierra Leone Correctional Service, a government correctional organization in Sierra Leone.

Its vehicle requirements covered several operational areas. First, dedicated vehicles were needed for prisoner transportation and transfer operations. Meanwhile, water sprinkler trucks and a vacuum sewage truck were required to support other service activities.

Therefore, the customer needed more than a single-purpose commercial vehicle. The project called for a coordinated fleet of specialized vehicles with different functions and configurations.

Dali handled the order as one customized project. As a result, the customer could source its prisoner transportation and supporting sanitation vehicles through a single supplier.

Customer Challenge

The main challenge was to meet different operational requirements within one vehicle procurement project.

The correctional service required five prisoner transport trucks for prisoner transfer operations. In addition, the project included two 14,000-liter water sprinkler trucks for water-related service applications and one 10,000-liter vacuum sewage truck for sewage collection work.

Because these vehicles serve different purposes, each configuration required separate technical planning. The customer also requested a customized order rather than a standard single-model purchase.

Therefore, Dali needed to coordinate different vehicle platforms and special-purpose bodies while maintaining consistent project management throughout the order.

Our Solution: Prisoner Transport Truck Fleet

For this Sierra Leone project, Dali supplied three different vehicle configurations.

The first part of the order consisted of five ISUZU FTR prisoner transport trucks. These vehicles were configured specifically for prisoner transportation and transfer operations based on the customer’s requirements.

The second part included two ISUZU FVR water sprinkler trucks, each equipped with a 14,000-liter water capacity. These vehicles expanded the fleet’s ability to handle water-related service tasks.

Finally, Dali supplied one ISUZU FTR vacuum sewage truck with a 10,000-liter capacity. This vehicle provided a dedicated solution for sewage collection and related sanitation work.

Together, these eight vehicles created a multi-purpose special vehicle fleet for the Sierra Leone Correctional Service. Moreover, the combination of prisoner transport, water service, and sewage collection vehicles allowed the customer to address several operational needs within one procurement project.

Customized Manufacturing and Quality Control

Dali completed the order according to the detailed requirements supplied by the customer. The project required different vehicle configurations, so production planning had to account for each vehicle’s intended application.

First, the engineering team confirmed the requirements for the prisoner transport trucks, water sprinkler trucks, and vacuum sewage truck. After that, production teams prepared the corresponding chassis and special-purpose equipment.

Meanwhile, quality control focused on the configuration of each vehicle before delivery. The completed vehicles were inspected according to their respective applications and project requirements.

• 1 × ISUZU FTR 10,000-liter vacuum sewage truck

The customer therefore received a complete eight-unit special vehicle fleet covering prisoner transfer, water service, and sewage collection applications.

As a result, the project demonstrates how a Chinese special vehicle supplier can support a government or institutional buyer with multiple customized vehicle requirements under one order.
